Our Use of Cookies and Tracking Technologies
To make your experience on our website better, understand how our site is used, and personalize your interactions, we use cookies and similar tracking technologies (such as pixels). These are small data files placed on your device when you visit our site.
Purposes for Using Cookies & Information Collected
On occasion, when you submit your email through certain campaign-specific web forms (e.g., for gated content or special promotions), we may associate your email address with a unique, anonymized identifier stored in a cookie on your device. This allows us to:
- Understand Your Interests & Personalize Your Experience: By observing your activity on our site (e.g., pages visited, content downloaded), we learn what information is most relevant to you. This enables us to tailor future communications and content, making your interactions with our site more useful and personalized.
- Improve Our Services: We use this data, both individually and in aggregated form, to analyze overall website engagement and identify areas where we can enhance our content and user experience. The cookie itself does not directly store your email address. Instead, it holds a unique, anonymized identifier that is associated with your email address in our secure CRM (Customer Relationship Management) and marketing automation systems. This allows us to track your activity on our site without directly exposing your personal information within the cookie itself.
Types of Cookies We Use
These cookies collect information about how you use our website, such as which pages you visit most often, and if you get error messages from web pages. They help us analyze overall website traffic and user behavior patterns to improve the design and functionality of our site.
- Google Analytics: We use Google Analytics to gather general, aggregated data about website traffic and usage. While some information collected by Google Analytics cookies may be aggregated and anonymous, it may also include information like your IP address. You can find more information about how Google Analytics collects and processes data here: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en-US
- Lead Scoring & Personalization: This cookie does not store your email address or personal information directly. However, when you voluntarily submit your email via one of our forms, we associate the anonymized cookie ID with your email in our secure CRM system (Salesforce). This enables us to personalize your experience and calculate an engagement score based on your interaction with the website, which may inform our marketing or outreach efforts. This processing is done based on your consent, and you may withdraw your consent at any time by clearing your cookies or adjusting your preferences via our cookie settings banner.
- Personalization/Functional Cookies: These cookies allow our website to remember choices you make (such as your user name, language, or the region you are in) and provide enhanced, more personal features. They may also be used to provide services you have asked for, such as watching a video or commenting on a blog. The information these cookies collect may be anonymized, and they cannot track your Browse activity on other websites.
Do Not Sell/Share My Personal Information (For California Residents)
As defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), ‘selling’ personal information may include sharing it for cross-context behavioral advertising, even without monetary exchange. We do not ‘sell’ your personal information in the traditional sense, nor do we intentionally ‘share’ your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as defined by California law. If you are a California resident and wish to exercise your right to opt-out of any potential future ‘sale’ or ‘sharing’ of your personal information, you may do so by contacting us at rmc@ranchmanagement.com.
Your Choices and Control Over Cookies
You have control over cookies.
- Browser Settings: Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser settings to decline cookies or receive a warning before accepting cookies. Please refer to your browser’s instructions or help screen to learn more about how to adjust or modify your browser settings. Be aware that blocking or deleting all cookies may impact the functionality and performance of our website, and some features may not function as intended.
- Cookie Consent Banner: In jurisdictions such as Canada, where implied or express consent is required for setting non-essential cookies, we provide a cookie consent banner that allows visitors to opt in or out of non-essential tracking. We do not set lead-scoring or analytics cookies unless you have provided consent through this banner.
- Third-Party Advertising Opt-Outs: You can also opt-out of certain third-party advertising cookies directly through their opt-out programs.
- Opt-Out of Marketing Emails: You can opt-out of receiving marketing emails from us at any time by following the unsubscribe link provided in our emails.
Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements, and to resolve disputes or enforce our agreements.
We collect and use your personal information based on your consent, our legitimate interest in improving our services and communications, or to fulfill a contractual obligation (such as responding to a request or inquiry). For Canadian visitors, we comply with PIPEDA and CASL by obtaining consent before collecting or using personal data for behavioral tracking or marketing purposes.
- Comment Data: If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
- Registered User Data: For users that register on our website (if any), we store the personal information they provide in their user profile for as long as their account is active.
- Cookie-Linked Behavioral Data: For certain campaign-specific web forms (e.g., those tied to gated content or special promotions), a cookie containing a unique, anonymized identifier may be set upon form submission. This cookie expires automatically after 30 days. The raw behavioral data collected via this cookie (e.g., pages visited, content downloaded) is used solely to calculate a lead score during the 30-day period and is not otherwise retained. The resulting lead score, once transmitted to our secure internal CRM system (Salesforce) and linked to your email address, is retained for as long as necessary to support lead qualification, personalization, and to tailor future communications. This allows us to maintain an updated assessment of your engagement.
- Other Data: Other personal information collected through forms (e.g., contact form submissions, workshop registrations, Executive Link paperwork) is retained for as long as necessary to fulfill the purpose of the submission and for our legitimate business records, or until you request its deletion. This allows us to maintain comprehensive records for business operations and customer support.
